Yes, we are a membership organisation, although it does not cost a lot to join ! The shopmobility scheme is free, the medical car service is £40 per annum and the Wellibus service is also £40 per annum. The Rushden and Higham Ferrers trial service is £15 for the six months to the end of March 2024. 

Either pop into our offices in the town centre in Wellingborough, just behind the taxi rank, give us a call on 01933 223636 or download a membership form from the website. Rushden and HIgham Ferrers residents can collect a membership form from both Town Council offices.

Our volunteer drivers are not paid but we charge a nominal £3.00 booking fee per trip plus the driver receives 45p per mile, which can vary based on which volunteer you are allocated and how far they have travelled to collect you. The office are always happy to give you an estimate of the costs and we are much cheaper than a taxi! We will always try to allocated the closest driver to you to keep your costs to a minimum. 

Plus our volunteers are much nicer than taxi drivers :)

Outings are exclusively for our Wellibus members and each month a varied list of trips is put together by our team and published online, in the office and advertised on the buses. Trips cost from £7, depending on the distance and day of travel. 

You can apply at a library up to 60 days before you become eligible (female State Pension age, whether you are a man or a woman.) You will need proof of your age and residency and your photograph will be taken there.

Acceptable evidence includes:

• current driving licence
• current passport
• birth certificate
• medical card
• pension service award letter
• any other proof of your birth date

You will also need to prove that you are resident in North Northamptonshire:

• household bill or bank statement which has your name and address on and is no more than three months old
