Rushden and Higham Ferrers Wellbeing Bus Membership includes daily door to door shopping transport, access to the monthly outings programme, local private group bookings, social and more! 

R&H Membership forms can be downloaded using the link above, collect from R & H Town Council offices or call in to the Shire office in Orient Way, Wellingborough town centre.    

Travel after 0930hrs is free if you hold a valid qualifying concessionary bus pass.

You can book your journey anytime in advance, up to 1300hrs the day before you want to travel, this is to avoid any disappointment and literally miss the bus.  

We also take regular bookings,  For you to attend day centres, classes, bingo or other social group activities  every week. 

 As we are a demand led service, every day can be different and dependent on the number of passengers booked to travel on the day.  

Collection times from home are an approximate guide, however we will supply you an idea when to expect us, return times are always confirmed on the day with your driver.

The R&H Wellbeing Bus offers trips to Town Centre shops, supermarkets, day centres, lunch clubs, garden centres, Sunday pub lunch or trips further afield. The R&H Wellbeing bus may take you to visit friends and relatives, hairdressers, coffee shops, restaurants, *the zoo, *petting farms, *seaside trips, *mystery tours or a *fish supper. *additional fares may be applicable.

 Be sure to announce  coming  events,  so everybody knows and gets excited about it.

As well as being a vibrant and busy town, Rushden boasts acres of open space and green parks and is well linked to the surrounding area and the expanse of the Nene Valley countryside, either by road or on foot or by bicycle via the 'Greenway.'

Rushden Town Council is responsible for the maintenance and management of the town's parks, play areas and open spaces. This includes four major parks, over thirty play areas and twenty open spaces.

The provision of safe, attractive parks and open spaces is a high priority and the Council will continue its programme of repairs, maintenance and improvements as necessary to ensure this is achieved.

The Council has its own in-house inspection and maintenance team for play areas, but the routine maintenance for the parks, open spaces and cemetery is carried out by our grounds maintenance contractor, Turney Landscapes.

Both our in-house staff and contractors work together to achieve a high standard of maintenance that will benefit the residents of and visitors to Rushden.

If you are running or considering running fitness or dance classes, we would like to advise that you do require permission from Rushden Town Council to do this.

As the land owner of these parks, we have a responsibility to ensure organised activities are run in a safe, professional manner and we do require certain information and documentation to ensure this happens. Higham Ferrers Farmers Market is held in the beautiful historic Market Square between 9am and 1pm on the last Saturday of each month except in December when it is moved to the last available Saturday before Christmas.

Our Farmers Market is a very successful monthly market with lots of stalls each offering something different.

A wonderful range of produce available including; pies, organic eggs and free range poultry, organic pork and lamb, crayfish fishcakes, pickles, chilli sauces, bread, cheese, fruit and vegetables, pies, honey, preserves, plants, and a great variety of cakes and traybakes.

When you visit the market you are able to purchase fresh produce direct from the stall holders and ask any questions with regards to the background of the goods. They are always willing to offer you their advice and even some recipes.
